Web Maps Studio

How much does it cost to use CloudMade Web Maps Studio?: CloudMade’s Web Maps Studio is free for all developers and publishers and gives you the opportunity to earn money from location based advertising that appears on maps and in search results on your website. Our location based advertising systems are currently in Beta – you can apply to join the LBA Beta program.
How does CloudMade’s location based advertising work?: There are a few different forms of location based advertising that you can chose to ad to maps and search results on your website. Targeted banner ads can be placed onto maps on your website. You can control how much space they take up and where on the map they appear. Similarly you can earn money from sponsored search results – special listing that appear in local search results on your website. You get to choose the type of advertising that appears and you can always whitelist and blacklist different types of advertising. You can keep track of the money you earn from your My Account page where you can monitor the views and clicks on ads on your websites and transfer your earnings into your bank account.
I don’t see any ads on my website today – where can I get them from?: We are currently running a pilot of our location based advertising program. You can apply to join the Beta program. We will be releasing location based advertising to all Web Maps API users in first quarter of 2011. Make sure you are signed up to CloudMade’s Developer Zone to to hear the latest news about location based advertising.
How can I create a custom map style?: CloudMade’s Style Editor lets you choose from thousands from community created map styles, or create your own unique style. Get started with Style Editor today
Can I get direct HTTP level access to CloudMade services like Geocoding, Routing, Local Search, Custom Image Tiles and Vector Stream Server tiles?: Yes. Are there any limitations to the way I use Web Maps Studio?: You can find out more from our Fair Use Guide
What will happen if I break any of the terms of the Fair Use Policy: If an API key registered to you is found to be breaking any of the terms of our Fair Use Policy we will first send you an email to notify you of the details of the breach. If you don’t respond to our attempts to contact you we may place limitations on your account. Eventually we may be forced to cut off your API key. This will cause maps and other CloudMade services on your website to stop working.
Do you have a version of your services that give guaranteed SLAs and uptime?: If you are looking for guaranteed uptime and other service level agreements you may be interested in Web Maps Studio Select. You can find out more about Web Maps Studio Select.
